2001 Ram 1500 5.9 Magnum. 4WD. 118k miles. Good for a weekend project, bit of work it would be a good utility truck. I used it for short distance regular pickup truck stuff for the last 10 years.
Truck currently doesn’t start - I had it shut off where it’s parked and it wouldn’t restart 10 mins later (cranks, no start). Fires/runs momentarily on ether. I suspect fuel pump. Fuel tank is dropped and ready for new pump. It may need a new fuel line “green clip” on one of the pump lines. I broke the new fuel pump trying to install, and don’t have the time to replace it and other things the truck needs. Needs a new home with someone that can put some good work into it.
It’s in a spot where it can be loaded on a trailer, or the pump can be fixed there and driven away.
Pros:
- Thick tires (they are old with some minor cracking) and nice aluminum wheels that can be polished up like new
- 5.9 engine seems to run well and plenty of power, does use some oil and coolant
- Brake discs, pads, rotors, calipers, all copper lines all around 5k miles ago
- Interior is decent minus the crappy dash panel broken and missing
- 4WD works fine
- Newer battery
Cons:
- Main issue of needing new fuel pump / fixing crank no start
- Trans shifts into all gears but has some difficulty upshifting at times
- All sorts of rust, especially on undercarriage
- Missing / broken rear left shock, all need replaced
- Broken rear left U Bolt
- Exhaust pipe is rusted apart about 2/3 way down. There is no muffler but there is the cat still.
- Broken dash panel
- Plenty of cosmetic dents and scratches
