‹image 1 of 2›
compensation:Paid contract work. Budget-conscious. Please include: (1) your trip/assessment fee (if any), and (2) pricing options for ~25 doors (per-door rate + discounted bulk rate). We will start with a small test scope (1–3 doors) before approving the full batch.
We have a commercial facility in Waterloo, IA with approximately 25 steel swing (hollow metal) doors that are binding/rubbing due to alignment/tolerance issues.
We’re budget-conscious and looking for someone with the right tools and experience to improve operation without full replacements, if feasible. If the initial approach works well, this will likely become a bulk job across multiple doors.
Scope (what we’re looking for):
On-site assessment to identify bind points
Adjustments as feasible (hinges/hardware alignment, shimming, etc.)
Minor metal work as needed to improve clearance (targeted grinding/trimming at rub points, welding if needed)
Seal/touch-up any exposed metal after grinding to prevent rust
How we’ll award the job:
We will start with a small test scope (1–3 doors). If approved, we’ll move forward with the remaining doors as a bulk project.
Requirements:
Experience with steel/hollow metal swing doors or metal fabrication
Must have tools for grinding/cutting (and welding if needed)
Ability to provide a clear plan + pricing after seeing the doors
Prefer insured (please mention if you are)
To respond: Please include your name/company, phone number, relevant experience (photos helpful), availability for a site walk-through, and pricing options (per-door + bulk rate).
For security reasons, we are not posting the exact address publicly; details shared after initial screening.
